Post Falls results
Ash won all her races and Lewiston won the meet Thursday at the Christina Finney Relays in Post Falls. Relay meets are scored a bit differently - the boys and girls team scores were combined to give Lewiston the overall win.
AshLee ran her first sub-minute 400 of the year, finishing in 59.5. Second place was Priest River pal Lacy Hopkins with a great early season time of 61 seconds.
Ash also picked up wins in the 200 (26.6) and anchoring the 4x200 relay.
Since it was a relay meet, the 4x400 relay was co-ed. Lewiston won easily despite Ash dropping the baton as she finished the third leg (the legs were girl-boy-girl-boy). Her story: "I've never handed off before." In 3+ years of relays she's always run the anchor leg. The offending baton has now been smashed and shattered by the relay team and Ash kept a few of the pieces.
The Lewiston Tribune has had a couple of nice meet stories that mentioned AshLee. Unfortunately, they charge $7 a month for online access. If you do want to subscribe, you have to call them, but they are very nice and very quick about setting up an account. The focus of last Sunday's story was the duel of defending state champions in the 200 and had some nice quotes from Coach Stuffle about both AshLee and Ellen Rouse.
The Lewiston Bengal Track and Field page currently has a picture of Ash getting the handoff in the 4x400 at last Saturday's meet.
Next meet is Thursday in Lewiston.
