Female sprinter to beat!

That was the quote we caught from Lewiston's coach as he spelled out "R-E-Y" for the local sportswriter. Coach Stuffle had reason to be excited after the 200m final yesterday. In his first season at Lewiston, he had just watched AshLee beat his former protege, Ellen Rouse, the defending 2A 200m state champion from Orofino.

Ash ran a 26.11, just under her own state championship-winning time, and won the race by half a second. She's been hearing a lot about Ellen this year and it was great motivation for her.

AshLee also won gold in the 400, winning easily with a time of 60.8 and the 4x400 relay, where her teammates gave her a big lead for her anchor lap.

Blogger is being bratty about uploading pictures this morning, so I'll try to post some pics this afternoon.

She got a mention in the prep roundup in the Idaho Spokesman Review and the Lewiston Tribune hasn't updated their website yet.

Next up is the Post Falls Invitational on Thursday, where Ash will get to meet up with her old Priest River teammates.
